At our church, we take seriously our responsibility of making disciples. Although every church shares the mission of making disciples, each church may go about it a little differently. We call our plan for making disciples, "The Discipleship Pathway". This tool is designed to help members go deeper in their relationship with God, and to realize His purpose for their lives.
“And so, from the day we heard, we have not ceased to pray for you, asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, so as to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him: bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God;” (Colossians 1:9–10)
We encourage every member to be committed to the four parts of the Discipleship Pathway: worshiping, connecting, growing, and serving. Each
piece of the pathway is an essential element for growing into mature followers of Jesus Christ. Jesus never said being a disciple would be easy, in fact He said, "the way is hard that leads to life" (Matt 7:14). Thankfully, God never intended to travel on this path, alone. We have brothers and sisters who are on this path with us, to encourage and exhort us.
“And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.” (Hebrews 10:24–25)
